I forgot to mention this, on Friday, a friend ask me whether I would
want to join an Anime & Manga Club in Swinburne. It seems that the
Foundation students are trying to form the above mentioned club.
According to the admin, a club needs at least 15 members to be formed.
As that friend was unknown to the fact that I drew manga,
that's why he bothered to ask. My reply however, was that I would join
if it is formed. Why? Because if I'm not hopeful, then I won't be
disappointed.
Even if 15 members are found, it still requires the approval
of the admin. As the "otaku" culture is still pretty low around here, I
think that the staff wouldn't give much consideration to the idea. We
also already have a Japanese club, having an A&M club would seem
redundant. Without any "educational" or "useful" activities, the club
would definitely be rated very low by the admin.
Even so, it would be nice to have such a club. Having watched
Genshiken and also discussed with Khee Ping about the prospect of such a
club made me really wish it would be approved.
*Keeping my fingers crossed*
